ASTM COMPLIANCE STATEMENT
ASTM International (formerly known as the “American Society for Testing and Materials”) is an international standard organization that develops and publishes voluntary consensus technical standards for a wide range of materials, products, systems, and services. All Rotax 4-stroke aircraft engines and the 2-stroke Rotax 582 UL comply with the ASTM F2339 standard published as “Standard Practice for Design and Manufacture of Reciprocating Spark Ignition Engines for Light-Sport Aircraft.”
Rotax has validated EASA Engine Type Certificates in several countries which allows the direct installation and usage in aircrafts of nations outside the EASA member states. These so-called Validation Type Certificates (VTC) and Acceptance Letters are listed in the following table.
