Excellentia Airline Academy Scales with Rotax Power
Excellentia Airline Academy is rapidly expanding its fleet with Sling NGT aircraft powered by the Rotax 912 iS, reinforcing a clear shift toward modern, efficient flight training operations.
With approximately 30 aircraft currently in operation — including five Sling NGTs — and a target of reaching 100 aircraft within the next 18 months, the academy is standardising on the Sling/Rotax platform to support its growth.
The decision is driven by the tangible advantages of the Rotax 912 iS in a training environment:
- Significantly lower fuel burn compared to legacy engines
- Fast maintenance turnaround and high serviceability
- Reliable starting and operation thanks to fuel injection
- Modern engine management aligned with current aviation technology
In high-utilisation flight school operations, these benefits translate directly into more aircraft availability, lower operating costs, and a better overall training experience.
As more academies look to scale efficiently while modernising their fleets, Excellentia’s expansion highlights the growing role of Rotax-powered aircraft in shaping the future of pilot training.
