About Us

BRP-Rotax in Gunskirchen, Upper Austria, is specialized in the development and manufacturing of innovative powertrains for recreational products. As a subsidiary of BRP, world leader in the design, manufacturing, distribution and marketing of motorized recreational vehicles, we are responsible globally for the development and manufacturing of Rotax engines. Our high-tech premium engines form the heart of legendary products such as Ski-Doo and Lynx snowmobiles, Sea-Doo watercraft, Can-Am all-terrain and side-by-side vehicles, Can-Am Spyder roadsters, motorcycles, karts and light and ultralight aircraft. Our focus is the development of eco-friendly technologies with high energy efficiency and lower emissions for dynamic performance and a unique driving experience.

Rotax Aircraft Engines

With low-operating costs, leading class power to weight ratio, well known reliability, it is no surprise that Rotax aircraft engines are the first choice of more than 220 aircraft manufacturers worldwide. BRP-Rotax is the largest producer of piston aircraft engines in the world. During the last 40 years BRP has invested in continuous design and development of Rotax aircraft engines. BRP’s facility in Gunskirchen meets Design and Production Organisation Approval standards (DOA and POA), which are valid for all types of certified and ASTM compliant non-certified Rotax aircraft engines. The compact and light weight design of Rotax aircraft engines has been developed by pilots for pilots for use on many kind of aircraft. Our goal is always to maximize the fun and to minimize the weight. Experienced engineering teams and a wide spectrum of R&D facilities guarantee that we deliver customer-oriented solutions and exceed customer expectations. Useful load and flight range of our engines are best in-class, explaining why Rotax aircraft engines are used also in a large number of commercial aircraft.

24 months or 400 hours (whatever comes first) of regular warranty for certified 4-stroke engines
18 months or 200 hours (whatever comes first) of regular warranty for non-certified 4-stroke engines

Network

BRP-Rotax is ready to cover your needs, with 19 authorized distributors and their network of more than 220 service and repair centers, guaranteeing service, warranty and parts availability for at least 10 years, no matter if you are an aircraft manufacturer, a flight school or a pilot. Our sales & service network provides well-equipped service operations and is staffed by fully trained and highly motivated technicians. They have access to the full line of Rotax Genuine spare parts, tools and equipment and are supported by the latest information systems to ensure minimum downtime. To offer customers the full support right at the beginning, we offer all manuals, catalogues and other useful documentation free of charge. The Rotax distributor network has factory trained mechanics and provides professional service for your engine throughout its life.

Training

Rotax aircraft engines are used all over the world. In the scope of providing highest quality BRP-Rotax has to rely on qualified engine operators/ owners and maintenance personnel. To provide the relevant knowledge technical education is the key factor. A worldwide distribution & service network has to supply training in different countries, languages, social environments etc.

BRP-Rotax established in 2007 a globally standardized training concept – called iRMT - covering the different scope of work, target audiences and educational levels which ranges from familiarization to overhauling the Rotax aircraft engines. All technical training courses are offered by our Rotax authorized distributors/authorized training organisations.
